Why use the IQ Option app?
The short answer: you stop being tied to a desk. Markets move while you're commuting, waiting somewhere, or away for the weekend, and an app means you can check a position or close one without hunting for a computer.
That convenience cuts both ways. Being able to trade anywhere also makes it easier to trade too often, which is worth knowing about yourself before you install anything.
What the app can do

Everything the web version does. In practice:
The same execution speed as the browser. This matters most on withdrawals. Requests go through in the same time and to the same destinations, whether that's a bank card or an e-wallet.
Thirteen interface languages, alongside the full instrument range: currency pairs, stocks, indices, commodities, and crypto.
Live price updates. Charts and quotes stream in real time, so you see the same prices as everyone else on the platform.
Immediate order execution. When you close a position, it closes. Keep in mind that a slow or unstable mobile connection is the bottleneck here, not the app. A weak signal at the wrong moment can cost you.
A low entry point. The minimum deposit is $10 and individual trades start at $1. You can also open a demo account funded with virtual money and test the whole platform without depositing anything.
Regulation: check which entity holds your account
The app is the same on every device, but the company behind your account isn't. IQ Option operates through more than one legal entity, and which one you sign with decides what protection you have.
IQ Option Europe Ltd — CySEC licensed
IQ Option Europe Ltd holds licence 247/14 from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. CySEC supervises investment firms against Cypriot and EU law, which covers client fund segregation, capital requirements and regular reporting.
Cyprus sits in the European Economic Area, so that licence passports across the EEA under MiFID II. The firm appears in these national registers:
| Regulator | Country | Registration no. |
|---|---|---|
| CONSOB | Italy | 4090 |
| CNMV | Spain | 3867 |
| Regafi (ACPR) | France | 75119 |
| AFM | Netherlands | listed |
| Finantsinspektsioon | Estonia | listed |
| ČNB | Czech Republic | listed |
One point worth being clear about: these are passport notifications under a single Cypriot licence, not six separate authorisations.
What EEA clients can actually trade. Binary options have been prohibited for retail clients across the EEA since ESMA's product intervention in 2018. Through the CySEC entity you trade CFDs — forex, stocks, indices, commodities and crypto. Not binaries.
UK clients. IQ Option Europe Ltd is not authorised by the FCA. It is running off its existing UK business and cannot take on new UK customers.
IQ Option Ltd (International) — not EU regulated
Clients outside the EEA are served by a separate international entity. The CySEC licence doesn't cover it, and neither do the registers above.
Before you deposit, check which entity your account agreement names. It's in the terms you accept at signup, and it decides whether EU investor protections and segregated client funds apply to you at all.
How to install the app?
Register or log in first. You'll need an account either way, and you can create one from inside the app if that's easier.
Then download the version for your device using the buttons above, or from the official IQ Option website. Android and iOS installs work like any other app from their respective stores. The desktop version is a standard installer for Windows or macOS.
Updates ship regularly, so the feature set shifts a little over time. If something in this guide doesn't match what you see on screen, the app is probably ahead of the page.
